Outpatient Behavioral Health

Our outpatient team is composed of psychiatrists, mental health therapists and nurses. Our outpatient services include medication management for adults, children, adolescents and our senior population. We also provide a wide range of psychotherapies across the age spectrum using evidenced-based practices. Our professionals work in partnership with the patient to create an individualized treatment plan focusing on recovery.

Services

Child and Adolescent Services
Our child and adolescent services are provided on an outpatient basis by a fellowship-trained child and adolescent psychiatrist and licensed mental health therapist. Each child in our clinic receives a comprehensive evaluation, medication treatment and therapy as clinically necessary.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy is an evidenced-based treatment designed to improve the relationship between parents and a child. It is one of the most effective treatments for children from the ages of two through seven with considerable behavioral problems. PCIT offers direct skills practice and support with a licensed mental health therapist.

Telepsychiatry Services
Telepsychiatry and teletherapy services are also provided by Behavioral Health Services. A telepsychiatry or teletherapy appointment is essentially the same as any other appointment with a psychiatrist or a therapist, except the visit uses a camera and monitor. You and your psychiatrist or therapist are able to communicate privately and effectively so that the best course of treatment can be determined. The use of telepsychiatry and teletherapy at Cheyenne Regional allows those in need of mental health services across Wyoming to access care close to home.

Integrated Mental Health and Primary Care
Behavioral Health Services is now offering mental health services onsite in primary care and specialty clinics. A licensed mental health therapist will work in partnership with the referring provider to integrate physical and mental health services to provide comprehensive care. A psychiatrist is available to consult with the primary care provider if there are questions regarding any behavioral health medication management needs.

Intensive Outpatient Therapy
Cheyenne Regional’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to help people cope with life circumstances, substance abuse and addictions. IOP takes place over 14 weeks and treats co-existing disorders such as alcohol, drug and other addictions. Each participant is screened and assessed by a licensed addictions practitioner to determine the appropriate level of care.

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) can provide rapid, significant improvements in severe symptoms that occur in a number of mental health conditions. It often works when other treatments are unsuccessful. The procedure is provided on an outpatient basis by an ECTcredentialed psychiatrist working with an anesthesiologist and a trained nurse.
