Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Announces Launch of State-of-the-Art Emergency Department Blood Kiosk

Oct. 22, 2024 – Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is proud to announce the launch of its cutting-edge emergency department blood kiosk, set to revolutionize patient care with immediate access to life-saving blood transfusions. This breakthrough is made possible by a generous grant from the CRMC Foundation.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Emergency Department Blood Kiosk, which represents a significant leap forward in our ability to provide rapid, life-saving care,” said Jennifer Dykshorn, Manager of the Trauma Program at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. “This technology underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care when every second counts.”

Previously, the process of obtaining blood products for patients in critical need could take up to nine minutes, posing risks during emergencies. With the new blood kiosk, emergency room staff can now access and administer blood in just 30 seconds, vastly improving response times and reducing the risk of complications for patients.

As the first hospital in Wyoming to implement this advanced technology, CRMC is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, reinforcing its commitment to patient safety and excellence. The introduction of the emergency department blood kiosk marks a significant milestone in CRMC’s ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services for the community.
