Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Receives Top Quality Ratings 2015

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is the only hospital in Wyoming to receive America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery™ and the Top 10% in the Nation for Overall Orthopedic Services for 2016 and Cardiology Services for 2015-2016.
Cheyenne, WY—Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) ranks in the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation for overall orthopedic services and cardiology services, according to this year’s evaluation from Healthgrades, the leading online resource helping consumers make informed decisions about finding the right hospital, the right doctor and the right care.
CRMC is the only hospital in Wyoming to receive America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery™ and the top 10 percent in the nation for overall orthopedic services, cardiology services and coronary interventional procedures for 2016.
CRMC has also been recognized with Healthgrades:
- 2016 Coronary Intervention Excellence Award™
- 2016 Orthopedic Surgery Award™
In addition, Cheyenne Regional received the most five-star clinical quality ratings of any hospital in Wyoming. A five-star rating indicates that clinical outcomes are statistically significantly better than expected when treating the condition or conducting the procedure being evaluated. The outcomes reflect in-hospital complications or in-hospital and 30-day post-admission mortality.
CRMC received five-star ratings for:
- Coronary Interventional Procedures for 2016
- Treatment of Heart Attack for Two Years in a Row (2015-2016)
- Treatment of Heart Failure for Two Years in a Row (2015-2016)
- Hip Fracture Treatment for Three Years in a Row (2014-2016)
- Spinal Fusion Surgery for Two Years in a Row (2015-2016)
These achievements were recently released online and in the Healthgrades 2016 Report to the Nation.

Healthgrades independently measures hospitals based on publicly available data that hospitals submit to the federal government. No hospital can opt in or out of the analysis, and no hospital pays to be measured. Healthgrades models adjust for risk factors that influence patient outcomes. These factors may include age, gender, specific procedure performed and conditions that take into account how sick patients are upon admission.
For this year’s analysis, Healthgrades reviewed 45 million Medicare patient records from approximately 4,500 short-term, acute care hospitals nationwide. This information was used to identify how the hospitals are performing in 33 of the most common medical conditions or procedures using objective measures of mortality and complication rates. Data for most conditions were based on Medicare patients treated from 2012-2014, with one condition based on all-payer state data from 2011-2013.
To celebrate the Healthgrades awards, CRMC will host a public reception on November 4, 4-6 p.m., in the hospital’s main lobby, 214 East 23rd St. The celebration will start with a short presentation by hospital and Healthgrades officials, followed by a reception with refreshments. The celebration is open to the community, and no RSVP is required.
