Diabetes Self-Management Education Program
Offered through Cheyenne Regional Medical Group Endocrinology & Diabetes Education, the Diabetes Self-Management Education program offers management and treatment education services for:
- Gestational diabetes
- Pre-diabetes
- Type 1 diabetes
- Type 2 diabetes

Working closely with each patient’s care team, our certified diabetes care and education specialists determine specific education needs and ensure every patient receives the right treatment at the right time.
Cheyenne Regional’s Diabetes Self-Management Education program has earned certification as an “ADA-Recognized Education Program” from the American Diabetes Association!
This designation recognizes that our Diabetes Self-Management Education program follows the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education, which are designed to define quality Diabetes Self-Management Education and to assist educators to provide evidence-based education.

Who is eligible to participate?
A physician referral is required for any diabetes education services. We can help you obtain that referral, if necessary.
Will insurance cover my participation in the program?
Private insurance companies may typically cover costs of the program with a physician referral, but program coverage varies depending on your insurance. Please check with your insurance provider regarding your personal benefits.
What topics does the program cover?
Through the program, patients receive individual instruction on a variety of diabetes-related topics and acquire the knowledge and skills to self-manage the disease and prevent complications.
