Surgical Procedure Technology

At Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC), we leverage leading-edge technology to enhance the precision, safety, and outcomes of our surgical procedures. Our skilled surgeons utilize advanced tools like the Mazor X Robotic Technology for spinal surgeries, which allows for highly accurate guidance and improved patient outcomes. For complex procedures, such as those involving Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), we employ state-of-the-art techniques tailored to each patient’s needs. The da Vinci Xi® System, a leader in robotic-assisted surgery, enables our surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with unparalleled precision, smaller incisions and faster recovery times. Whether it’s spinal surgery, GERD treatment, or other specialized procedures, our commitment to using the latest technology ensures that patients receive the highest level of care possible at CRMC.

Anesthesia and Pre-Op Care

Our surgical team includes board-certified anesthesiologists who are committed to providing safe and effective anesthesia care. At our Care Clinic, patients receive pre-operative teaching and testing to ensure they are fully prepared for their surgical experience.

Operating Room (OR)

CRMC’s full-service operating room includes nine surgical suites and two GI Endoscopy Procedure rooms, where our team performs 400 to 500 surgical procedures each month. Our OR has four specialty call teams—open heart, neuro, orthopedics, and general surgery—available 24/7. The OR staff is comprised of RNs, certified surgical technicians, anesthesia technicians, patient care techs, perfusionists, CRNAs, and support staff. All RNs are TNCC and CNOR certified, and our dedicated trauma support team is available around the clock.

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Same Day Surgery (SDS)

Our PACU nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), with a strong background in critical care. In the Same Day Surgery unit, our RNs, CNAs, and secretaries provide care for patients undergoing day surgeries or procedures that do not require an overnight hospital stay.

Sterile Processing

Our Sterile Processing team ensures the highest standards of safety and cleanliness by decontaminating, reassembling, and sterilizing all surgical equipment for various departments, including the Emergency Room, Obstetrics, and Home Health.
